@julloyart *ears perk*
#bookbinding? Tell me more!
@julloyart *grins* No, I found SeaLemon already and find her awesome. I just like talking to other people who do bookbinding!!
@aldersprig I would love to know more about bookbinding though. Didn't have time this year to bookbind my next bulletjournal because of my masterthesis. But bookbinding is so relaxing!
Do you do anything special when you bind books?
@julloyart I haven’t had a chance to get into it in a while - used to work at a Book Arts Center which was about the best job ever - so I’m still in the “occasional hobbyist” stage, mostly playing with pamphlet bindings at the moment for my #patreon (and closures! All the fun closures!)
What are you working on for your masters thesis?
@aldersprig Well, it's the same stage with me. Occasional hobbyist but binding more booklike than pamphlet :D
The thesis is about guidings the viewers attention in 360-videos. The practical part is already done (I hope the professor sees it the same as I do) and you can watch here https://youtu.be/AKLH7CjDY_Q
@julloyart I would love to get my Patreon up to the size where I’m sending out hardbacked books every 6 months!
Eventually, I will outgrow pamphlet, hopefully.
This one is a gate? fold. With a gate design on the front and I’m going for a closure like a loop over another loop with a peg (iron nail) to hold.
@aldersprig What do you want to know exactly? :D
Cause if you are looking for tutorials (which are the same that got me into binding my own sketchbooks - great present for art friends as well), then look at the channel of sealemon. She's got a few tutorials on bookbinding :)
