It’s a hot hot hot hot day in parts of North America. If you’re like me, your only access to cooling at home is something like a struggling window unit.
Libraries can be cooling stations if you can get to one. And they mostly won’t kick you out. They’re a place you can be and not buy anything. Keep safe if you can. 💜💜💜💜
Hint: if they look like they're about to kick you out, ask if they can direct you towards any books about Holland in the 12th century.
Walmart or the supermarket work in a pinch too.
@oranje Yep, Walmart is def big enough to wander about in if you can keep standing. And some have those cafes where you can sit
@brightneedle They mostly won't kick you out...mostly.
@brightneedle also: so bizarre how important libraries are as one of the last free (as in no money) places
@brightneedle Good point about libraries - I never thought of those. I'm blessed to be in a sublevel facing north, so even without A/C and a 30+ day it is bearable indoors.
Things seem ok in my corner of canada: it's 15 right now at 11am with a predicted high of 19 and 30% chance of showers.
