Do we have any voice actors here in the Fediverse? I'm playing a Dungeons & Dragons character in an upcoming game that's a skilled mimic so I'd love tips on cool voice exercises and mimicking exercises. It's out of my comfort zone but I'm excited about the challenge!
(She's a Kenku [bird lady] tailor to the crown, and mostly talks in overheard gossip and scandals. Poor love can barely say anything kind because of it!)
@emaree I'm not a pro but I've done some voice work.
The best (only) advice I have is to picture the character saying those words and practice what that would sound like. Record yourself so you get comfortable with hearing your own voice. Then record yourself with what you think the other choice would sound like and see in they match.

@emaree You're welcome. Also be gentle on your voice. It takes training (which I don't have) to not strain it for long periods of time. If you want to do more growly-type stuff I think there are some death-metal vocal training videos online.
